if you tilt your head all the way back and say "king kong's long dong" it gives a nice stretch to your throat, which will also be useful if your words become manifestThis whole time I kinda assumed that King Kong was named after wukong. It just kinda made sense that a giant ape would be named after the monkey king.
Nah apparently the guy who created King Kong just sorta took the O off of Congo.
If I had a nickel for every legendary monkey figure that independently put kong in their name I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twiceI wasn’t counting DK because I do think he was named after King King even if it was subconsciously. They named him kong because it implied gorilla which is definitely because of the impact of King Kongpanese person who came up with the name thought Donkey=ass, as in a buffoon or boor, and that Kong must mean ape, otherwise why would the giant ape in the movie be called King Kong? So they were trying to translate an idea of “boorish ape” into English without having much idea of how English worke
