Wholesome siblings moment

My sister is 2.5 years older than me. We’re almost in our 60s now. We fist fought almost every day. Before we went to bed she would come in my room to tell me what an asshole I was or something along that nature. And then she would go and get in her bed, sweetly say “ready” and I got out of my bed to turn her light off!! Most of the time between midnight and 2am I would go get in her bed. Most nights she was waiting and would lift the covers and we would fall asleep. This went on until she got married and moved out at 19. It slowly dwindled down to 2 or 3 nights a week. I also cut her meat for her and 30 minutes later she had me by the hair above my forehead with her arm straight out! Me swinging and kicking!
At the end of the day we’re siblings and she may have been able to beat my ass for a while but no one else was going to touch me. She had to come to JH school a few times and take care of some bullies. We’re not close at all now. But she would be there if I needed her and her the same.
Enjoy the sweet time now, one day they will be gone and you won’t get to open the door and see 2 babies in the bed snuggling! Take the time to burn those images in your brain. We don’t realize it’s so precious and important when we’re in the moment. I’m glad you did/do! Good job mom!Well she had a growth spurt way before I did. I’m short and stocky like my dad who’s 5’3”. My sister was built like my mom, long and lanky. Mom was 5’11”. And that was the only way she could stay far enough away from my nails. They were long and strong and can lay you open. That’s the only weapon I had against her. Olive Oil lookin thingIt’s a special kind of love. Sometimes it felt like I was caught between the sentiments of “ I would help you hide a body” and “ yours is the body I will be hiding”. No matter how we fought, or how petty our disagreements could get, at the end of the day, it really did feel like it was us against the world.
